It is reported more frequently these days that people are trying to use patents to inhibit development of the Internet for the majority. These people are attempting to use the patent concept to monopolize computerized functions that are actually everyday activities. Taking patents on these generic activities is similar to trying to take a patent on everyday activities such as operating restaurants, department stores or being a doctor.
